REPORTS TO: Director of Buildings and Grounds Maintenance
DEFINITION: Under general supervision performs repair and maintenance work on buildings and facilities for Somerton School District No. 11
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

TASKS:
Performs repair and maintenance of electrical plumbing heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) roofs floors and paints School District buildings and contractors performing services to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory light bulbs fluorescent tubes and air carpentry to install and repair cabinetry and repairs or replaces light fixtures receptacles outlets Exit signs breakers controls relays Marquees kitchen equipment energy management system controllers smoke detectors and alarm up and removes furniture and equipment for events and with custodial up parts supplies and necessary tools to complete assigned work orders. Operates heavy equipment to remove or install HVAC systems irrigation sprinkler systems or large maintenance sprinkler installation and required paperwork work orders and related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of carpentry cement finishing and building maintenance practices and techniques.
Knowledge of machinery equipment and tools necessary for the maintenance of public school buildings and facilities.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Knowledge of HVAC plumbing electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs.
Skill in installing maintaining and repairing public school facilities buildings and grounds.
Skill in safely using maintaining and repairing equipment and tools to complete assigned projects.
Skill in diagnosing and repairing HVAC system problems for efficient energy management.
Skill in following oral and written instructions.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in indoor and outdoor requires frequent standing walking bending and lifting up to 100 be exposed to moving equipment extreme weather conditions heights high voltage construction sites toxic fumes and chemicals infectious diseases enclosed spaces and air or water borne pathogens.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or (5) years construction building maintenance and/or trades possess an Arizona driver be required to possess or obtain HVAC Certification and Refrigerant Handling License Type I and certifications may also be required as specified by the District. Fingerprint Clearance Card (IVP) required at the time of hiring.
