About the role:

Data is a critical part of Arctic Wolf Networks mission to solve cyber risk where we process and analyze hundreds of billions of events every day to look for malicious and risky behavior. Furthermore were geeks at heart and are passionate about data and solving cybersecurity problems for our customers. The AI & Data Science team works on analyzing Arctic Wolfs product platforms internal business challenges and customer pain points to develop new products and features for our customers.

As a Data Engineer on the Security Research Services Development team you will be responsible to create data pipelines for our suite of cybersecurity products and services. They will partner with Security Researchers and MLOPs engineers as a data engineer familiar with SQL Spark and either/both of Databricks or Athena/Iceberg/Trino to write and optimize ETL/ELT jobs to ingest raw data from a variety of sources refine that data and optimize/tune those datasets into production. They should be comfortable with relational- and non-relational databases like SQL and PostgreSQL big data systems such as Spark and cloud-deployments of software and ETL jobs in AWS. Workflow orchestrators such as Airflow will also be used. Knowledge of cybersecurity and data science are a bonus.

You Will:

• Design and implement distributed fault-tolerant data pipelines for real-time and batch processing.

• Build scalable microservices and APIs using Python or Go.

• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using Spark Flink and orchestration tools like Airflow or AWS Step Functions.

• Work with big data technologies including Databricks Athena Iceberg and Trino.

• Implement data streaming and event-driven architectures using Kafka Kinesis SQS/SNS etc.

• Manage and optimize data storage using Parquet ORC Avro and query engines like Presto and Athena.

• Deploy infrastructure and pipelines using Terraform CloudFormation Jenkins and other CI/CD tools.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data infrastructure requirements and deliver robust solutions.

• Contribute to LLM workflows and prompt engineering using platforms like AWS Bedrock.

• Continuously improve data availability quality and performance for ML and analytics workloads.

About You:

• 5 years of experience in data engineering with a strong focus on scalable backend systems.

• Proficiency in SQL PostgreSQL and big data platforms like Spark and Databricks.

• Hands-on experience with cloud-native data infrastructure especially AWS.

• Expertise in building and maintaining data lakes and optimized storage formats.

• Strong programming skills in Python Go Java or Scala.

• Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tools.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and data science workflows is a plus.

• A collaborative mindset and a passion for solving complex data challenges.
