Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Patient Transporter to join our healthcare team in this essential role you will be responsible for safely moving patients throughout our facility while ensuring their comfort and dignity.

  • Transport patients of various ages and mobility levels between hospital departments using appropriate equipment and body mechanics
  • Assist in moving patients to and from beds wheelchairs and other mobility devices
  • Maintain patient comfort and safety during transportation while adhering to safety protocols
  • Operate and maintain transport equipment according to facility standards
  • Monitor patients condition during transport and report any concerns to medical staff
  • Sanitize and prepare transport equipment between patient transfers
  • Respond promptly to transport requests from various departments
  • Document transport activities according to hospital procedures
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Provide direct observation of patients when required to ensure safety

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proper body mechanics and patient transfer techniques
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to assist in patient movement and operate transport equipment
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow directions and protocols precisely
  • Strong time management skills with capacity to prioritize effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations
  • Experience working in collaborative healthcare teams
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care principles
  • Physical stamina to perform duties throughout entire shift
  • Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in high-stress situations
