Job Summary

Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Ethical AI / IV&V Specialist will ensure that AI models and agentic systems are transparent fair and compliant with National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) governance requirements while supporting mission-driven objectives. Specific responsibilities include:
  • AI Compliance & Governance
    • Oversee compliance and governance of AI products ensuring alignment with governance frameworks and risk controls (e.g. NGA CORE data policies IC/Department of Defense standards).
    • Design automated workflows for continuous validation of model compliance and governance performance suitability and mission alignment.
    • Establish structured model documentation (model/data cards methodology hyperparameters evaluation metrics) to support explainability auditability and accreditation packages.
  • Fairness Audits & Bias Documentation

    • Develop and apply fairness bias and ethical risk assessment metrics across multi-modal GEOINT datasets and models.
    • Document and maintain bias findings mitigation plans and risk tags as part of official system records.
    • Conduct impact assessments on underrepresented classes operational edge cases and potential disparate outcomes in model outputs.
  • Ethical Risk Tagging & Monitoring

    • Implement risk tagging frameworks within the model registry to track ethical considerations potential AI deception risks and transparency compliance.
    • Build monitoring dashboards and alerts for bias drift and ethical risk triggers that may require model retraining or re-accreditation.
    • Provide transparent ethical risk reporting to IT Security ATO authorities and mission stakeholders.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree in AI/ML Data Science Ethics in Technology or a related field; additional years of experience may be substituted.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML system validation assurance or responsible AI frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Python for building analysis scripts validation pipelines and reporting tools.
  • Experience conducting model evaluations fairness audits and compliance assessments.
  • Understanding of IV&V methodologies bias detection techniques and ethical risk assessment frameworks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in AI/ML Data Ethics or a related discipline.
  • Experience with:
    • Bias/fairness metric design and ethical AI risk frameworks (e.g. NIST AI Risk Management Framework).
    • Building IV&V pipelines and model governance dashboards in NGA CORE or similar NGA/Intelligence Community (IC) secure data environments.
    • Contributing to or leveraging open-source responsible AI or audit frameworks.
  • Familiarity with geospatial data governance data curation and lineage enforcement.
  • Active Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility.

  • Work schedule: Normal work hours constitute on average 8 hours a day 40 hours per week (excluding breaks and meal periods) within standard operational hours occurring 0600-1800 Monday-Friday excluding Federal holidays. May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
