Employment Type: PRN
Pay Rate: $12 - $15/hr; (Negotiable based on experience)
Shifts Available: 8-hr Shifts
- 7:00 AM 3:00 PM
- 3:00 PM 11:00 PM
- 11:00 PM 7:00 AM
Position Summary:
The Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) provides high-quality compassionate care to elderly residents in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting. The GNA assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) ensures their safety and comfort and supports the nursing team in maintaining a positive and caring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care to residents including bathing dressing grooming toileting and feeding.
- Assist residents with mobility ambulation and transfers using proper techniques and equipment.
- Take and record vital signs weights and report any significant changes to the nurse on duty.
- Maintain residents comfort dignity and privacy at all times.
- Support residents emotional well-being and engage them in social and recreational activities.
- Keep resident areas clean organized and safe.
- Document care provided accurately and promptly in accordance with facility policies.
- Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs.
- Follow infection control safety and confidentiality policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with residents families and the healthcare team.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
