Job Description

As a Backend Developer youll design build and maintain robust server-side applications that power Axis Communications core business systems. Youll take part in both new feature development and the modernization of existing platforms driving performance and reliability at scale. What youll do here asBackend Developer:
We are seeking a Backend Developer to design build and maintain our server-side applications. The work will involve a mix of new feature development and the maintenance and modernization of existing systems. Youll be working on the core engine of our business improving the systems that our most critical operations rely on. This role combines backend coding with DevOps responsibilities requiring a candidate who is comfortable working across the full application lifecycle.

• Develop test and maintain scalable and reliable backend services and APIs primarily in Python and PHP.
• Manage and troubleshoot our applications and infrastructure in a Linux environment.
• Write and maintain Bash scripts to automate deployment monitoring and operational tasks.
• Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to deliver high-quality features.
• Proactively identify and propose new ideas for improving our systems and development processes.
• Take ownership of features and systems from concept to deployment and maintenance.
• Maintain refactor and improve existing legacy codebases.

Skills & Qualifications Needed

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in backend development withPythonand/orPHP.
• Solid experience working within aLinuxenvironment including command-line proficiency.
• Demonstrable ability to write clean efficientBash scriptsfor automation.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL.
• Familiarity with building and consuming RESTful APIs.

Bonus Points for Experience With:

• Cloud platforms (AWS GCP Azure).
• Ansible.
• Monitoring and logging tools
