We are seeking a highly skilled 3D CAD Designer with extensive experience in designing mechanical casings and assemblies for electronic devices. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SolidWorks or Fusion 360 or TinkerCad capable of creating precise functional and manufacture designs optimized for 3D printing injection molding or other fabrication methods.
The contractor will work closely with our product and engineering teams to transform concepts and electronic schematics into production-ready enclosures that meet technical aesthetic and usability requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design model and optimize 3D mechanical casings for electronic devices including housings snap-fits and mounting features.
Develop assemblies ensuring proper fit for PCBs batteries connectors and other components.
Prepare 3D-print-ready files (STL/OBJ/3MF) and support structures for prototyping.
Collaborate with engineers to ensure clearance tolerance and accessibility for components.
Conduct design reviews and iterate quickly based on feedback.
Ensure designs adhere to manufacturing constraints including 3D printinginjection or molding.
Maintain organized libraries of CAD files version history and documentation.

Qualifications
5 years of professional experience in mechanical CAD design for consumer electronics IoT devices or similar products.
Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360 (parametric design assemblies sheet metal surface modeling).
Proven experience designing electronic device casings including enclosures for PCBs connectors and batteries.
Strong understanding of 3D printing processes tolerances and materials (PLA ABS resin PETG etc.).
Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) principles.
Familiarity with file export for 3D printing (STL/OBJ/3MF) mesh repair and slicer workflow.
Excellent attention to detail problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
