Position Summary:
The Program Specialist is a crucial team member in St. Peters Health Partners SAFE CARE NY (Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner Children and Adolescent Response and Education Program) which addresses the critical need for Child Advocacy Center (CAC) based pediatric forensic medical care across New York for pediatric survivors of violence. The Program Specialist serves as the main point of contact to coordinate care of children with 35 counties/communities across New York State ensuring that child who experience violence have access to forensic medical care and support and that their non-offending care givers have access to needed services.

Principal Responsibilities:
1. Direct Services to Program Participants:
-Works with the site non-offending caregivers and/or law enforcement to coordinate acute care for children who have experienced abuse including but not limited to forensic exams
-Provides post-exam support to children and non-offending caregivers such as counseling personal advocacy and referrals to other services as needed.
-Coordinates any necessary multi-disciplinary team meetings and case review activities with the CAC multi-disciplinary teams.
-Attends and participates in MDT and CFRT meetings as necessary.
-Completes and submit OVS Compensation applications when needed.
2. Program Service Tracking:
-Complete progress tracking of program deliverables including the tracking and documentation of services rendered.
-Keep necessary timesheets including OVS Functional Time Records.
3. Outreach and Coordination Efforts with CAC locations/communities:
-Outreach efforts as needed to identify and onboard new sites for services
-Collaborate with SAFE CARE NY nurses and CAC staff to provide outreach and training to allied professionals community members and potential clients.
-Participates in local and regional meetings as a representative of the programs to share information about services avaialble.
-Represent the SAFE CARE NY program in efforts to coordinate care with local hospitals and pediatricians to ensure that child victims of abuse are provided with appropriate medical care.
Pay range: $19.90-$31.84
Pay is based on experience skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location
