Job Summary

Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: St Marys Catholic College
Responsible To: SENCO
Salary Grade: Band G scale pointFTE (27821 - 30729 Actual)
Contract: This is a 2 year full time fixed term contract until 31st August 2027 36 hours a week 39 weeks per year
Start Date: As soon as possible

We are looking for an enthusiastic HLTA to support our teachers in delivering high quality learning. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification and previous experience working with children.

The governors of St Marys Catholic College would like to invite applications from excellent enthusiastic and engaging individuals for the posts of Higher Level Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will support teachers delivery of the national curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff pupils school policies and strategies.

Key responsibilities:

To complement teachers delivery of the national curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff pupils school policies and strategies.

To work both independently and collaboratively with teaching staff in the whole planning cycle and the
management/preparation of resources.

To deliver learning to individuals small groups and whole classes as and when required within agreed systems of supervision.

To provide support for pupils the teacher and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning monitoring assessing and managing classes.

To encourage pupils to become independent learners to provide support for their welfare and to support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life.
