Job Summary

About the role Mō te tūnga

Hon Matt Doocey MP is looking for an MP Support Coordinator to join their team in the Waimakariri electorate office for up to 40 hours per week. Youll be supporting constituents to engage with their elected representatives and helping your MP to connect with the community.

Your previous experiences in customer servicewill be nothing short of excellent. Youll be comfortable working with people across the community and be able to do this while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.

Youll be highly organised and love working within a collaborative team.

As an employee of Parliamentary Service you will be politically impartial in your role. An awareness of the political landscape may be beneficial in supporting your MP.

Responsibilities Ngā haepapa

  • Assist with community engagement and constituent services for the MP
  • Monitor local forums newsletters and community Facebook pages where required and maintain established information databases relating to work and contacts made in the community
  • Help provide information and advice to constituents on parliamentary processes and services
  • Maintain established databases and files relating to constituent issues
  • Raise common constituent issues and escalate complex cases where agreed with the team manager and/or the MP

The pay band for the role starts at $69630 per annum and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an events-based agreement with your employment linked to your MP. This role is based in the Waimakariri electorate office for up to 40 hours per week The intended start date for the role is January 2026.
