Job Summary

A key role has opened for a dedicated Project Engineer to support complex engineering projects from prototype qualification through production delivery. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer with a strong background in mechanical or mechatronic systems systems engineering processes and project management and who can contribute effectively to multi-disciplinary project teams. The contract duration is 3 years.

Key Responsibilities:

Execute and/or support qualification and investigative tests on engineering prototypes
Analyse data and prepare technical reports
Witness contractor site acceptance tests and review test reports
Manage configuration and change control processes
Provide project management support to ensure deliverables meet technical and quality standards

Minimum Requirements
Qualification(s) required:

National Diploma BTech/BSc BEng/MTech MEng or equivalent in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering (qualification level aligned with experience requirements below)
Valid drivers license

Experience (qualification-dependent):

Proven experience applying and controlling systems engineering processes executing technical tests performing post-processing of test data (MATLAB or Python) conducting root-cause investigations and producing technical reports:
- 6 years relevant experience coupled with a BTech/BSc OR
- 4 years relevant experience coupled with a BEng/MTech OR
- 3 years relevant experience coupled with a MEng

Additional Experience / Knowledge:

Exposure to project lifecycle and production environments
Project management experience
Knowledge of quality assurance systems and engineering standards
Configuration management and configuration management systems
Systems engineering methods procedures tools and techniques
Mechanical component/assembly fabrication and acceptance
Servo control systems and large mechanical structures (welding stress relief etc.)
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Conceptual and systems thinking
Experience in integrated project teams

Additional Notes / Competencies:

Willingness to travel locally and abroad
Ability to work at remote sites for extended periods
Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel Visio and PowerPoint
Experience in data processing or test script development using Python or MATLAB
Ability to perform detailed engineering tasks and analysis
Excellent interpersonal communication and multi-tasking skills
Initiative independence self-discipline structure and organization
