Job Summary
Were looking for a skilled marine mechanic to add to our this position it will be your job to repair and maintain a wide variety of boats.
Youll complete several key repair and maintenance tasks as one of our marine mechanics. For example youll be asked to identify problems in boat engines and repair them. Youll also spend time working on propellers sails and navigational equipment among other boating components.
Your maintenance tasks will involve diagnostics repairs and testing. Ensuring that all of their components are seaworthy. Youll need to be deeply familiar with how boats work and what it takes to repair them in order to do well in this role.
Wed prefer to hire a candidate who has formal marine mechanic training at a technical school but may hire the right candidate without this training. You can send us your resume to begin the application process
Responsibilities
- Test marine engines and electrical systems to ensure theyre working properly
- Carry out various repair and maintenance tasks as dictated by the needs of the vessel
- Answer our clients questions about maintaining their boats
- Repair faulty and malfunctioning engine components
- Fill out accurate service records and repair documents
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Formal marine mechanic training is preferred
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
- Deep knowledge of the components that allow boats to function
- Excellent mechanical skills and the ability to use a wide variety of tools and techniques
Compensation: $22.00 - $45.00 per hour

San Francisco Boat Works has evolved from a primitive and antiquated yard operation to one of the four major small boat repair facilities in the Bay Area and the only remaining full service yard accommodating San Francisco Half Moon Bay and the Peninsula.
