Be a central figure in administering payroll services within the agency to include handling inquiries and providing information to employees and others.
In this dynamic role you will interpret evaluate and resolve problems pertaining to the application of the collective bargaining agreements the Washington Administrative Code and agency policies and procedures.
With your experienceyou will perform several complex and time sensitive payroll and benefit duties that affect all WDFW programs and staff statewide.
WHAT TO EXPECT -
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role this position will:
Payroll and Benefits Processing.
Process Timesheets in Total Time.
Benefits Administration.
Working Conditions:
Work setting: Work is performed in an office setting.
Schedule: Core business hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Scheduled work hours may be flexible. May occasionally be required to work more than 40 hours per week or on weekends to meet deadlines during payroll cut-off and open enrollment periods. Limited leave approved during these cutoffs and open enrollment periods.
Travel requirements: Occasional travel may be required throughout the state to attend training meetings and conferences.
Customer Interactions: Field and office staff by phone email and in person that require timely responses.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
Option 1: Associate degree in general studies business public administration accounting economics statistics or relevant field and one (1) year of professional experience in accounting budget finance payroll or public administration.
Option 2: At least six (6) months experience as a Fiscal Analyst 1.
Option 3: Three (3) or more years of professional experience in accounting budget finance payroll or public administration.
Special Requirements/Conditions of Employment:
Successful completion of agency training and/or certification is dependent on supervisory direction position need and training availability.
