Leading consulting and project management company that specialise in public sector needs is seeking a Software Developer to collaborate with metropolitan municipalities to design build and maintain citizen facing digital platforms as well as supporting both web and mobile applications across our Smart City. This is a permanent role based in East London Eastern Cape

Duties & Responsibilities

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

Degree or Diploma in Computer Science Software Engineering Information Technology or related field.
35 years experience in web and/or mobile development using: (Web Forms or MVC) C# Microsoft SQL Server / T-SQL JavaScript / HTML5 / CSS / jQuery Mobile frameworks such as Xamarin MAUI React Native or Flutter
Proficiency with Visual Studio IIS and API development
Strong understanding of relational database design and data security principles
Ability to debug refactor and maintain and mobile applications

Desirable Skills-

Experience with GIS systems or IoT integrations.
Familiarity with Entity Framework and LINQ.
Exposure to data analytics and visualization tools.
Strong facilitation skills

The successful applicant would be responsible for but not limited to:

Software Developer who will support both web and mobile application development across our Smart City ecosystem including platforms for citizen engagement service requests IoT integrations and urban data analytics
Development of applications built on the Framework and contribute to new mobile-first applications (for Android and iOS)
Being part of a multi-disciplinary team
Maintain and enhance (C#) web applications using Visual Studio and SQL Server
Design develop and deploy mobile applications (native or hybrid)
Integrate web and mobile systems through secure RESTful APIs
Write and optimize T-SQL stored procedures
Participate in the design of new modules
Implement and maintain secure authentication
Support cloud-readiness and hybrid deployment strategies (Azure/AWS)
Translate functional needs into technical deliverables
