Painter Facilities Department

12 Month Position

January 2026

Position Summary: Responsible for painting repairing and maintaining all painted interior and exterior surfaces throughout the District.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent
Requires completion of Asbestos Awareness Program
Job-related prior experience required

Essential Job Functionsinclude the following:Other Duties May Be Assigned

Determines proper procedures and products to be applied.
Prepares surrounding environment to protect from splatter or spill of paint or paint-related products.
Prepares surfaces for painting.
Applies paint to walls ceilings lockers equipment etc. using brushes rollers and/or sprayers.
Repairs drywall to include bracing hanging and refinishing.
Patches and repairs plaster surfaces.
Leads summer painting projects and the helpers assigned to the projects.
Lays-out and paints playground stripes.
Assists other maintenance personnel as needed.
Serves as a substitute custodian as needed.

COMPENSATION FOR EXPERIENCE IS CONSIDERED 2025-2026 Classified Salary Schedule
