Job Duties
Provide efficient and professional staff support for legislative committees and subcommittees during the legislative session including creation of patron notices and agendas in coordination with committee leadership and Legislative Services staff.
Ø Ensure parliamentary procedures are followed in committee and subcommittee meetings. Track all assigned bills throughout the committee process. Accurately record and communicate committee and subcommittee actions in accordance with prescribed procedures.
Ø Efficiently operate all committee databases (e.g. iHOD HOD Speak and HOD Voting) and related technology.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of House of Delegates committee/commission process and procedures
o Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate multiple tasks effectively communicate with elected officials and colleagues and collaborate with multiple parties to accomplish goals and priorities.
Additional Considerations
This is an hourly/seasonal position for the 2026 Session of the House of Delegates and the position is on site at the General Assembly Building in downtown Richmond. The employment dates are January 8 2026 - March 9 2026.
