DescriptionEvaluates and treats patients referred for speech language cognitive and dysphagia dysfunction.
ResponsibilitiesRole & Responsibilities:
- Candidate will be responsible for covering the adult inpatient floors
- Will provide services that evaluate and treat patients for speech language and cognition voice fluency and swallowing disorders
- Must be familiar with tracheotomy and vent dependent patients as well as Passy Muir valve evaluations and treatment
- Communicates findings and concerns related to patient care to other members of disciplinary team. This includes but is not limited to MDs clinical nutrition staff nursing staff PAs radiology staff.
- Ability to perform objective testing preferred.
- Ability to perform Modified Barium Swallow Study/Video Fluoroscopy and FEES preferred
QualificationsRequirements:
- Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology required
- New York State Speech-Language Pathology license required
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency as well as previous experience in acute care or related medical setting
