Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for partnering with site supervision to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

Inspect jobsite including tools equipment and machinery to identify and correct deficiencies or potential hazards and to ensure compliance with OSHA internal and Owner/GC regulatory requirements.
Assist project team and safety management team in the investigation of safety-related damage incidents employee injuries or occupational illnesses and motor vehicle accidents to determine cause and contributing factors.
Conduct or facilitate safety training and education programs to supervisory and field employees through formal training classes safety meetings or other venues.
Recommend safe work processes and demonstrate personal protective equipment safety features that will reduce employees exposure to workplace and environmental hazards.
Ensure tools equipment materials vehicles and technical instruments are fit-for-purpose functional calibrated and the appropriate protective equipment methods guard management systems are in place to reduce or eliminate the risk of employee injuries or illnesses.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of four years experience in the construction industry.
Possess excellent understanding of the electrical industry.
OSHA 30 Certification.
Thorough understanding of and the ability to enforce all federal state local and corporate regulations.
Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency inMicrosoft Office products such as Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook are required.
Ability to understand and execute the company vision and values of our PACT People Advance Process Community and Trusting Relationships.

Preferred Requirements:

Electrical experience including a Journeyman Electrical License or RTT.
Completion of OSHA Course #510.
Current certifications or in pursuit of any of the following certifications:

Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) by BCSP.
Certified Electrical Safety Technician (CEST) by NFPA.

Knowledge in accident investigation following root cause analysis principles.
