Job Summary

Braemar College is an independent co-educational ecumenical school for students in Years 5 to 12. The College has two campuses both are located near Woodend less than an hour from Melbournes CBD.

The successful candidate will experience working in one of the most unique educational settings and teach committed and passionate students. We continue to embed a culture of personalised learning with an integrated approach to achieve high standards of learning and teaching for all students.

This is an incredible opportunity to join Braemar College which provides a highly supportive and comprehensive learning experience for students.

The position replaces a teacher who is on long service leave.

It is full-time and fixed-term for Semester 1.

Commencing 23 January 2026.

About You:

The College seeks an outstanding teacher who is a dedicated educational professional with a passion for education. It is expected that you will:

  • Have an enthusiastic approach to the education of young people including a focus on developing skills and underpinning knowledge.
  • Embrace developing curiosity and problem-solving in our learners.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to teachFood Technologycurriculum through to VCE.
  • Display skills and knowledge in the vocational area of VET Certificate II in Cookery.
  • Must hold a recognised vocational competency in training and assessment needed to deliver and assess the Certificate II in Cookery.
  • Facilitate a high level of commitment to kitchen safety.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work and plan collaboratively with teaching teams.
  • Show a willingness andthe capacityto contribute to the wellbeing of students with an agile approach to engaging with students overall.
  • Display innovation in curriculum and collaborative learning approaches to engage students.
  • Have a tertiary teaching qualification that enables you to teach Food Technology along with strong culinary skills and a passion for food.
  • Display an individual learning disposition that strives for continual improvement.
  • Be a current VIT registered teacher.

In addition the preferred applicant will have an understanding of and commitment to the ethos of Independent Schooling and a willingness to contribute to College events and adhere to the Colleges Child Safety Policy.
