Physics Teacher - Battersea Wandsworth
Were looking for an inspiring and highly qualified Physics Teacher to join a high-achieving secondary school in Battersea located in the popular borough of Wandsworth. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a successful Science department and play a key role in delivering outstanding outcomes particularly at the advanced level.
The Role
The school is seeking a qualified Physics specialist with proven experience teaching the subject across all key stages with a strong emphasis on A-Level. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about demonstrating practical applications and nurturing a genuine curiosity for the subject. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Delivering exceptional Physics lessons to students from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level.
- Developing and implementing a rigorous curriculum that encourages deep conceptual understanding and strong mathematical application skills.
- Leading exciting practical work in the laboratory and ensuring a high standard of health and safety.
- Guiding students through challenging theoretical concepts examination preparation and university applications (where applicable).
- Collaborating with the wider Science department to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this vital role you should have:
- A degree in Physics or a closely related scientific field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE.
- Proven experience teaching Physics at the secondary level with a strong track record of success at A-Level.
- An excellent understanding of the UK curriculum and the ability to inspire a wide range of abilities.
- Superb communication organizational and classroom management skills.
Salary & Application
The salary for this position is competitive and will be paid to the MPS/UPS scale (Inner London pay scale) commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
