We are seeking a HIL Validation Engineer to join our team. This role will involve performing Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and vehicle validation activities for hybrid and electric powertrain systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in MATLAB/Simulink vehicle validation powertrain control systems and dSPACE HIL testing with a passion for automotive innovation and hybrid technologies.

Job Description

As a HIL Validation Engineer you will be responsible for validating complex control systems and embedded software for hybrid and electric powertrains. You will work with advanced model-based development tools and HIL environments to ensure robust and reliable system performance. The HIL Validation Engineer will play a key role in debugging data analysis and feature validation of powertrain control systems to support production-level readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Perform HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) validation of powertrain control systems using dSPACE or similar systems.
Develop execute and automate test cases in MATLAB/Simulink and validate system responses.
Conduct vehicle-level validation and ensure alignment with powertrain control strategies.
Validate and troubleshoot embedded control systems for hybrid ICE and BEV architectures.
Use CANoe/CANalyzer tools to analyze communication networks diagnostics and DTCs.
Work closely with software controls and calibration teams to identify and resolve feature anomalies.
Support model-based development and debugging using MATLAB Simulink and Stateflow.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams for requirement gathering and test result analysis.
Provide structured validation reports and participate in reviews with project managers and stakeholders.
Ensure all validation activities align with SDLC processes and automotive quality standards.

Essential Skills

Strong experience in HIL Validation and Vehicle Validation.
Expertise in MATLAB Simulink and Stateflow for control system modeling and analysis.
Hands-on experience with Embedded Software Development and Real-Time Workshop (RTW) code generation.
Proficiency in M-scripting debugging and control algorithm validation.
Familiarity with microcontrollers (preferably Freescale).
Solid understanding of Hybrid and Electric Powertrain Architectures.
Knowledge of SDLC and control system verification methods.

Desirable Skills

Strong background in Automotive Powertrain domain - ICE Hybrid and BEV systems.
Experience with dSPACE HIL systems and automation testing frameworks.
Proficiency in CANoe/CANalyzer ETAS INCA and diagnostic validation.
Knowledge of powertrain features torque control and thermal management.
Excellent understanding of DTCs and diagnostic protocols.
Effective communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
