Job Title: Protein Expression & Purification Specialist

Location: Research Triangle Park NC 27709

Job Description:

Summary:

Seeking an experienced scientist to support protein production workflows through bacterial expression systems with expertise in protein isolation and purification techniques.
Essential Requirements & Responsibilities:
BS/MS in Biochemistry Molecular Biology or related field
Hands-on experience with bacterial protein expression
Execute bacterial protein expression protocols using E. coli and other prokaryotic systems
Demonstrated expertise in aseptic technique and bacterial culture maintenance
Proficiency in cell lysis methods (sonication chemical enzymatic) and protein extraction
Perform protein analysis using SDS-PAGE and other analytical techniques
Document all experimental procedures and results in ELN
Maintain detailed laboratory records and standard operating procedures
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for workflow troubleshooting
Excellent documentation and communication abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel Word PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with protein purification techniques (FPLC chromatography)
Familiarity with automation systems and high-throughput processes
Experience with method development and optimization
Knowledge of additional protein characterization methods (Western blot)

Education:

May require a bachelors degree in area of specialty.
