About the Role:
As our Senior Director R&D Cytology you will drive visionary leadership and operational excellence for a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers. Youll partner closely with cross-functional colleagues to develop launch and support game-changing diagnostic productsespecially in cervical cancer screening digital pathology and sample processing. Your leadership will shape both the future of our portfolio and the everyday experience of patients worldwide.
What Youll Do:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute bold product strategies from concept through commercialization in partnership with R&D and business leadership.
- Innovation & Growth: Lead the development of differentiating new capabilities and support on-market products to fuel our growth agenda.
- Team Empowerment: Build mentor and inspire a high-performing diverse and engaged teamfostering a culture of learning collaboration and operational excellence.
- Collaboration: Drive a unified one-team culture across global sites partnering with Marketing Commercial and other stakeholders to deliver a robust differentiated product pipeline.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion lean methodologies and process optimization ensuring quality compliance and customer satisfaction at every stage.
- Industry Leadership: Represent Hologic at conferences trade shows and professional meetingsshowcasing our thought leadership and innovation.
What You Bring:
- 10 years experience in R&D product development or sustaining engineering (with at least 5 years in senior leadership) preferably in diagnostics medical devices or life sciences.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Life Sciences or related field; advanced degree (MS PhD MBA) strongly preferred.
- Deep technical expertise in biology cytology and clinical laboratory testing practices.
- In-depth knowledge of medical device regulations and standards (FDA ISO CE Mark).
- Track record of leading successful product development projects from concept to commercialization.
- Proven ability to inspire build and lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed fast-paced environment.
- Experience with lean methodologies and driving organizational transformation is highly valued.
- Exceptional communication stakeholder management and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Passion for innovation operational excellence and patient-centric service.
