Position Summary The Department of English at the University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English position beginning Fall 2026. |
Duties/Responsibilities The successful candidate will specialize in Early American Literature or Multi-Ethnic American Literature. The Department is open to expertise in all theoretical perspectives including (but not limited to) approaches to the study of literature focusing on race ethnicity class gender and sexuality disabilities ecocriticism and colonialism. English faculty are also expected to teach composition on a regular basis. |
Required Knowledge and Skills Qualified candidates must have a doctoral degree in English. Applicants with ABD status will be considered at the rank of Instructor if doctoral degree will be completed by the end of their first year of employment. If employment starts in August 2026 terminal degree must be completed by the end of July 2027. |
