About You and This Role
As a R&D/TS&D Lab Technician in Mobility and Transportation Electronics (M&T) you will be based in Wiesbaden Germany contributing to Dows mission to enhance the reliability performance and sustainability of transportation and industrial applications. Youll be part of a team that leverages silicone-based materials to deliver advanced solutions for airbags seals battery safety lighting and more ensuring safety and environmental responsibility. Your role bridges technical expertise and customer needs supporting product development and application innovation aligned with Dows commercial strategy.
Responsibilities
- Provides application testing support to TS&D specialists and scientists for different M&T and consumer and electronics (C&E) customers and innovation projects including
- Mechanical rheological and shelf-life testing and down packing of products into required packaging when needed
- Supporting lab scale dispense trials for customer / project requests
- Supports management of lab suppliers and good housekeeping including use of chemical inventory tools (like CISPRO) for products used in team
- Demonstrates capabilities and skills necessary to generate meaningful data to support projects within team
- Uses basic problem-solving skills to suggest improvements to laboratory processes and operations
- Apply scientific methods and multidisciplinary approaches to solve technical problems.
- Maintain clean desk policy in office and clean lab environment with good housekeeping mentality
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry Chemical Engineering Polymer Science Material Science or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in simultaneously managing multiple technical projects
- Fluent in German and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in German or another European language.
- Experience with mechanical testing in accordance with international standards.

- Understands the need to meet deadlines imposed by supervisor
- Communicates clearly and effectively in a timely manner utilizing verbal and written formats.
- Effectively interacts with project team on technology discussions pertaining to immediate area of responsibility.
- Provides written and verbal summaries of work status and data to project leader.
- Records own test results in line with requests from senior technicians technologists or technical professionals
- Ability to manage confidential information and system access responsibly.
- Learns and follows safety procedures and contributes to a safe working environment
- Demonstrates good work ethic and willingness to comply with Dow policies and standards of performance
