The Department of Economic Security Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Independent Oversight Committee Liaison. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities and their families services and supports that are flexible high quality and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community.
Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.
| Job Duties: |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepares meeting agendas notices minutes and volunteer time sheets. Attends the meetings and serves as a principal resource regarding current program policy and decisions to clarify information resolve problems and advise but does not attend as a voting member.
Coordinates w/DDD Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure the committee members have access to incident reports of suspected abuse neglect exploitation & any supporting documentation to enable the identification of human rights violations to the extent necessary to conduct committee duties. Tracks incident reports provided to members on a monthly basis. Coord & track all requests for additional info by the member w/DDD QA staff.
Trains new members and provides ongoing training to current members. Ensures all members are current/updated on their volunteer paperwork with the DES Volunteer Program.
Responds/tracks and or elevates issues/concerns raised by members.
Collects and analyzes data and information to prepare reports and ensures the timely completion of a variety of assigned projects that are related to the Division and its members.

Knowledge in:
DDD Service Delivery Systems and Arizona Long Term Care Services.
Effective management principles and statistical methods.
Unusual Incident Reports investigative reports licensing standards.
Skills in:
Written and oral communication. Interpersonal relationships and diplomacy working with diverse groups of individuals in a professional manner.
Researching compiling data and providing comprehensive reports.
Developing organizing and coordinating effective systems to increase the quality of service.
Using Computer systems for tracking and report writing such as Google Docs Google Sheets and DDD Focus.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Group training and facilitation.
Ability to:
Learn to interpret and apply federal state and local laws rules regulations policies and procedures relating to individuals with developmental disabilities..
Maintain strict confidentiality; Work independently and with a diverse group of people.
Work with committees to ensure proper policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Organize information quickly and logically; Articulate complex arguments and resolve conflicts between competing information.
Interpret and analyze Division data to determine strategies of courses of action in regard to maximizing benefits; Present information in a logical understandable manner.
Work at an expeditious fast pace with changing priorities and multi-task; Be detail oriented while maintaining a global perspective.
| Selective Preference(s): |
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
BA/BS in Education or other related fields. Prefer at least 1 year of Case Management/Support Coordination experience .
Experience with report writing and managing diverse groups of people is highly desirable.
| Pre-Employment Requirements: |
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business then the following requirements apply: Drivers License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to Drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operated a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) (R.11).
Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the Agencys ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
