Department Overview:

The Gaming Developer & Future Technology (GDFT) are PlayStations technology experts. We research and develop innovative technologies that push the boundaries of play helping game developers make the best games on PlayStation. Within GDFT is the SIE Connected Content Group based in London whose function is future feature prototype exploration & validation.

Role Overview:

SIEs Connected Content Group has a broad and deep range of skills including game development cloud technology development rendering & distributed systems research and platform publishing expertise. As a Senior Manager your primary focus will be on people and stakeholder management. While a solid understanding of technology is important your primary responsibility will be to lead inspire and support a team of talented individuals ensuring their success and fostering a culture of innovation curiosity collaboration and growth.

What youll be doing:

  • Lead and manage a team of managers researchers and engineers providing guidance mentorship and support to help them achieve their professional goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract recruit and retain top talent.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management & engineering to define and drive research and execution roadmaps.
  • Establish and encourage a culture of innovation curiosity and continuous learning.
  • Foster an inclusive and diverse work environment where every team member feels valued respected and empowered.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align CCGs efforts with the overall organisational objectives and long-term vision.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments and advancements in gaming technologies and provide insights and recommendations to drive innovation.
  • Manage project timelines budgets and resources effectively ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Collaborate with external partners research institutions and academia to utilise the latest advancements in our explorations.

What were looking for:

  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team of researchers or developers.
  • Solid understanding of technology with the demonstrable ability to effectively and clearly communicate and bridge gaps in understanding among a wide range of varying stakeholder skillsets
  • A Bachelors degree (or higher) in computer science software engineering business management or a related field is desirable.
