The Raytheon team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to support the Sea Based X-band (SBX) radar product and the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software (SW) Department. The MDS SW mission is to provide world class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems. We align to the core Agile and DevSecOps principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream delivering high-frequency high-quality deployments to our customers. The job location for this opportunity is in Woburn Massachusetts.

What You Will Do:

• Manage coordinate and support execution of scrum team scope and agile backlog for a scrum team responsible for the programs software development
• Provide technical guidance and peer reviews to scrum team members
• Manage technical solutions along with cost and schedule including managing earned value

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.

• Experience as a software developer in C and/or Java code base Git version control and workflow code review process unit testing UNIX/Linux OS.

• Experience leading an engineering team preferably using the Agile Scrum or Kanban framework
• Experience managing technical cost and schedule performance
• Experience developing software in a team-based development environment using the Agile Scrum or Kanban framework
• Excellent communication oral presentation and interpersonal skills
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Exposure to radar software development and/or radar concepts
• Proven experience with current Missile defense programs with specific experience in large complex systems
• Experience working in Agile environments such as scrum scrum at scale SAFe and DevSecOps
• Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
• Ability to coach and delegate work to lower-level professionals
• Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to complex technical problems
• Experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite (e.g. Bitbucket/Artifactory Confluence Crucible Fisheye Jira) Jenkins Eclipse and Ansible
• Experience working in a continuous integration/continuous development environment; experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Redhat and Linux Operating Systems
• Strong skills using debugging tools to quickly identify and fix software bugs as well as optimize code for performance.

  The salary range for this role is 101000 USD - 203000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
