Position Overview

The Electrical Design Engineer will join a collaborative multi-disciplinary team of engineers and designers responsible for creating efficient code-compliant and innovative electrical systems. This role involves supporting senior engineers in all phases of design and documentation for new construction and renovation projects including commercial healthcare and educational facilities.

The ideal candidate has strong AutoCAD and Revit skills a keen attention to detail and a desire to grow within a forward-thinking engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft electrical construction drawings including details plans and sections.

• Perform electrical load and energy calculations for diverse building types.

• Design power distribution and lighting systems for commercial institutional and residential facilities.

• Design and layout fire alarm and low-voltage systems.

• Select and specify electrical equipment lighting fixtures and control systems.

• Coordinate design efforts with mechanical plumbing and architectural disciplines.

• Develop construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit.

• Participate in equipment schedule and specification development.

• Conduct code research and ensure compliance with NEC NFPA and building codes.

• Support sustainable design initiatives including energy-efficient lighting and power systems.

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with clients consultants and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer-Aided Drafting.

• Minimum 8 years of electrical design experience with a consulting engineering firm.

• PE license not required but preferred.

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

• Knowledge of building and electrical codes including NEC and NFPA.

• Excellent problem-solving coordination and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
