Job Overview
The Scientific Support Engineer enables NIMH laboratory operations by translating research requirements into secure reliable computing solutions. This role provides advanced support across Windows macOS and Linux environments leveraging ITBs system management tools for configuration monitoring and optimization. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues integrating instruments and analysis workflows and maintaining stable operations across audiovisual systems virtualization platforms networking and VoIP. The engineer also supports a broad range of peripherals including multifunction devices and large-format printers to ensure researchers can work efficiently with minimal disruption.
This role will be a full-time position with work performed both on-site at the NIH Main Campus 9000 Rockville Pike Bethesda MD 20892and remotely with core hours Monday-Friday: 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM EST. Position is contingent upon award and upon client approval.

What Were Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 4 years of relevant experience ideally with the NIH or another scientific organization
- BS/MS/PhD in Engineering Applied Science or another relevant field
- Familiarity with supporting scientific research methods and tools for research staff
- Subject matter expertise with Windows macOS and Linux enterprise computing andITBs system management tools
- Expertise with the ServiceNow platform and associated tools and processes
- Familiarity with AV equipment virtualization platforms networking VoIP MFDs and large-format printers
Salary Range
- $80000 to $90000
