About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design build and optimize the data infrastructure that powers our Near Real Time Processing. You will play a key role in developing scalable data systems mentoring junior engineers and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable high-quality data.

Responsibilities

• Data Architecture & Development

  • Design develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.

  • Build robust data models and warehouses to support analytics and reporting.

  • Implement data quality checks monitoring and governance frameworks.
    

• Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with data scientists analysts and software engineers to ensure smooth data flow across systems.

  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to best practices.

  • Partner with product and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into solutions.
    

• Performance & Optimization

  • Optimize database queries and data pipelines for performance and cost efficiency.

  • Ensure high availability and reliability of data infrastructure.

  • Stay up to date with emerging data engineering technologies and evaluate their applicability.
    

Qualifications

• Required:

  • 5 years of professional experience in data engineering or related field.

  • Experience designing building and optimizing real-time data pipelines using Apache Flink Spark and Kafka to support high-throughput streaming applications.

  • Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling.

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python Java or Scala).

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure) and modern data stacks (Snowflake BigQuery Databricks Redshift etc.).

  • Hands-on experience with distributed data systems (Spark Kafka Flink or similar).

  • Knowledge of data governance security and compliance best practices.
    

• Preferred:

  • Background in building data platforms at scale.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform CloudFormation).

  • Exposure to machine learning workflows and MLOps practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.

As a part of the total compensation package this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge skills experience market conditions and locations as well as reflect SailPoints differing products industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary for US-based employees will be in this range from (min-mid-max USD):

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employees home location.
