Job Summary
Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking professional and supervisory discretion and independent department (i.e. PACU) provides patient monitoring and care during the immediate post anesthesia period. Care may include primary as well as secondary recovery addition PACU may provide patient care for over flow patients and specific procedures such as therapeutic or diagnostic blocks for pain control insertion of epidural or central catheters or electroconvulsive therapy.
