Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Engineering Manager to lead our global data engineering team from our Pune-based GCC. This role combines technical leadership with people management focusing on building scalable data platforms using modern technologies like Databricks Python and big data ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a distributed team of 8 data engineers across geographies
- Architect and oversee development of robust scalable data pipelines and platforms
- Collaborate with global stakeholders across Product Data Science and Business Analytics
- Ensure high performance reliability and maintainability of data systems
- Drive best practices in coding testing deployment and documentation
- Mentor and coach engineers for technical growth and career development
- Manage sprint planning delivery timelines and stakeholder communication
- Promote a culture of innovation ownership and continuous improvement
Qualifications :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field
- 10 years of experience in software/data engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing engineering teams of 8 members
- Proven experience working with global or GCC-based development teams
- Strong expertise in:
- Databricks and Apache Spark
- Python for data workflows
- Relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL MongoDB)
- Big Data technologies (e.g. Hadoop Delta Lake Kafka)
- Solid understanding of data architecture ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices in data environments
- Familiarity with data governance security and compliance frameworks
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Certifications in cloud or data engineering platforms
