Job Summary
Northeast Counseling Services is the mental health crisis service provider for central and southern Luzerne County. We are currently seeking individuals to become part of our team providing assessments on mental health clients seeking help. Positions available are for per-diem work great for professionals who want to pick up a few additional hours a week. These positions offer flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work a range of different shifts.
The Mobile Worker On-Call (COC) provides in person assessment and intervention for adults adolescences and children experiencing psychiatric emergencies in the Northeast Counseling service area when phone intervention by the Emergency Worker is not adequate during non-working hours of the center. The Mobile Worker can provide intervention either individually or as a team based on the presenting problem and individual need of the client.
THE POSITION REQUIRES AN INDIVIDUAL TO HAVE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Have a bachelors degree with major course work in sociology social work psychology gerontology anthropology political science history criminal justice theology nursing counseling education or a related field.
- Be a registered nurse.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalency and 12 semester credit hours in sociology social welfare psychology gerontology or other social science and 2 years of experience in public or private human services with 1 year of mental health direct care experience.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalency and 3 years of mental health direct care experience in public or private human services with employment as a mental health staff person prior January 1 1992.
- Be a consumer or a family member who has 1 year of experience as an advocate or leader in a consumers or family group and has a high school diploma or equivalency.
- Staff persons employed by a provider who have 5 years experience as a supervisor of mental health services in a mental health agency prior to January 1 1992 are exempted from this section.
Must poses a working knowledge of the philosophy concepts mandates and operations of community health services and other human services agencies. They must have a knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and be proficient in writing and verbal communication skills.

Salary: Per Diem Rate: $35.00 (4:30pm-12:00am) and $40.00/hour (after midnight and weekends) when active $7.25/hour when not active)

This position requires the successful completion of an FBI Clearance PA Criminal Clearance and Child Abuse Clearance.
