Responsibilities
As a Chaplain You will:
- Conduct and ensure timely spiritual assessments for patients and families
- Participate in developing individualized care plans to address spiritual needs
- Provides direct spiritual support to patients families and caregivers
- Serves as a liaison to community chaplains and spiritual counselors
- Maintains accurate documentation of spiritual services and communications
- Attends interdisciplinary meetings and contributes to care planning
- Offers education and spiritual care guidance to the care team
- Recruits and supports community chaplains spiritual counselors and volunteers
- Coordinates and leads memorial or funeral services as requested
- Organizes periodic memorials for staff volunteers and community partners
- Assists in supervising spiritual care volunteers
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited theology or chaplaincy program (BD MDiv or equivalent theological degree)
- Experience working with death and dying hospice experience preferred
- Comfort in an interfaith setting
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order
- Ability to accept different lifestyles cultures beliefs and values
- Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care
- Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary group
- Ability to network with community clergy and congregations
