This position is under a Collective Bargaining Agreement in a union environment and the hourly rate is$27.65/hr

Job Summary

Performs electrical and electronic repairs preventive maintenance equipment installation and modifications to a wide variety of production equipment with limited supervision. Possesses the ability to read blueprint handle ESD components and solder.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson procedures and guidelines this position:

  • Be able to determine wire and cable size requirements by calculating voltage amperage wattage resistance etc.
  • Be able to diagnose motor and motor control troubles and correct by repairing or replacing parts.
  • Operate all testing equipment such as Voltage testers Voltmeters Ammeters Ohmmeters Wattmeters etc.
  • Install maintain and repair electronic control circuits and equipment photoelectric cell circuits level controls etc.
  • Work on live lines and circuits using all safety precautions..
  • Change light bulbs and ballast of all types; also replace or repair fuses of any size used in plant.
  • Operate and work from ladders.
  • Make necessary openings cut outs etc. as required by assignment.
  • Be familiar with changes in trade methods and practices especially as they may apply to Johnson & Johnson installations.
  • Lay out and install electrical wiring and components working from blueprints sketches diagrams etc.
  • Utilize trade knowledge and familiarity with plant and equipment to suggest Improvements or short cuts as applicable.
  • Direct instruct and advise helpers when assigned.
  • Maintain work areas and shop in neat and orderly condition; adhere to all safety requirements.
  • Install and make minor repairs to programmable controllers.
  • Keeps abreast of changes or trade practices and new equipment particularly as they may apply to J&J equipment and processes.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition if applicable
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal State local and Company regulations policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Work in team environment behaving in a CREDO based respectful manner.
  • Follow all. federally regulated programs.
  • Adhere to J&J environmental and safety policies and guidelines.
  • Follow all job specific safety procedures and use PPE when necessary.
  • Follow quality system requirements as defined within procedures and instructions.
  • Use test equipment where applicable.
  • Use applicable software systems as needed for the job (e.g. ComplianceWire ADAPTIV etc.)
  • Consistently meet required work performance targets (REs) if applicableSupport LEAN and Six Sigma Initiatives.
  • Support Maintenance Excellence (ME2) including 6S and Operator Asset Care.
  • Accurately complete records as defined within the job procedures (e.g. manual and/or electronic documentation).
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Consistently meet required Training due date targets.
  • Job may entail working on off shifts (2nd and 3rd) based on business needs.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent required. Vocational Certificate Technical or Associates is preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Prefer formalized vocational technical or apprenticeship training with applicable experience.
  • Prefer prior experience in GMP ISO and QSR or other regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience using a PC software such as Microsoft Office Suite and navigating in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills be a team player and be able to work with minimum technical supervision.
  • Arc Flash training
  • Knowledge of current electrical codes.
  • Must possess a current and valid drivers license

Additional Requirements

  • This position will require candidates to take and pass the WorkKeys Assessment.
  • The selected candidate will have to be amenable to a day shift schedule for 6 to 9 months for training and transition to night shift after training is completed.
