Global Transaction Banking (GTB) is comprised of four business lines: Treasury Solutions Corporates (CCM) Treasury Solutions - Financial Institutions (FI) Global Trade Finance (GTF) and Export Agency Finance (EAF). Key support functions include: Credit Structuring Product and Client Solutions Business Intelligence and Business Risk / Control.

GTB is a key growth business within TDS offering innovative solutions and treasury advisory services on large and complex liquidity payments and trade needs. Over the last decade we have seen unprecedented levels of innovation within our industry which GTB continually adapts to meet our clients needs. GTB is highly integrated within TDS and TD Bank Financial Group and works in close partnership with Risk Operations Legal GAML and Treasury and Balance Sheet Management.

Overview of business divisions:

CCM provides treasury management products to Canadian and US companies with subsidiaries of foreign multi-national companies. Treasury management consists of the collection disbursement and management of money and the related information technology required to directly integrate with our clients.

FI provides Canadian payment clearing and settlement services to financial institutions globally who fall within our strategy and risk appetite. As an integral team member in FI coverage you will have responsibility for managing product profitability provide exceptional client servicing act as first line of defense for risk and Internal compliance as well as support a broader TDS wide client relationship management mandate. Effective and impactful FI coverage means delivering one-TD to our FI clients and prospects to developing partner banks. Internally within TDS one-TD means working in close collaboration with partners in Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Fixed Income Foreign Exchange and TDs Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) to achieve strategic outcomes.

GTF provides tailored financing solutions to help companies facilitate cross-border transactions and manage their overall business more effectively and efficiently. The global team develops client centric solutions by employing traditional trade finance products to help mitigate risk associated with domestic business needs or foreign sales and purchases. Additionally is supports foreign banks and their clients needs in North America and acts as a trusted partner to mitigate risks in international trade

EAF consists of a global coverage and structuring team which assists institutions arrange and underwrite medium and long-term loans backed by highly-rated Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) and Sovereigns Supranationals and Agencies (SSAs).

Your Summer as a Global Transaction Banking Analyst:

  • You will receive 10 weeks of on-the-job training covering origination and execution across GTB
  • Opportunities to gain exposure to a wide variety of functions and products across TD Securities

How You Will Contribute:

  • Complete complex financial transactions in a fast-paced highly competitive business environment
  • Work as part of the GTB team to maximize business opportunities and provide financial solutions to our corporate and institutional client base
  • Assist the GTB team achieve its objectives by foreseeing client needs and developing an unparalleled level of execution excellence
  • Direct experience in GTBs US division covering GTF CCM Product and Risk

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills and strong business finance mathematics and quantitative analysis skills or relevant experience
  • Industry experience and courses are highly desirable
  • 3rd Year undergraduate students (with an expected graduation date in Spring 2027) with a demonstrated record of achievement

Education & Experience:

  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated
