Job Summary
Provide support services for the police department in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the St. Louis Park Police Department. During the term of employment attend an accredited post-secondary institution with intent to prepare for and become eligible for POST licensure. Will work approximately 20-29 hours per week for up to 48 months from date of hire.
Position is eligible for 100% of law enforcement tuition reimbursement with a maximum of $5000 per year. Must fulfill requirements for tuition reimbursement in accordance with the citys tuition reimbursement policy.

Apply St. Louis Park Police Departments community-oriented policing philosophy in the course of regular duties.
Responsible for animal complaints including citation capture detention and transportation to designated veterinary shelter.
Respond to parking complaints and take enforcement action when appropriate.
Assist with care and maintenance of all department equipment.
Write clear and complete police reports in accordance with department policy.
Assist other departments including but not limited to delivering council packets cash deposits fingerprinting etc.
Assist the investigations division in returning property recovered or used as evidence to owner and with other matters.
Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as directed by department personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
18 years of age.
High School graduate or GED.
Valid MN drivers license.
Must have no felony convictions.
Must be enrolled in a peace officer education program or similar law enforcement program by time of hire.
Ability to learn the geography of St. Louis Park including important buildings and the street system.
Ability to obtain and retain knowledge of federal and state statutes city ordinances and other directives related to law enforcement procedures and police department operations.
Desired Qualifications
