The Large Client Lead will be responsible for leading one or more of Japans most significant client relationships managing account teams and ensuring
the delivery of high-quality work on time and within budget. This role will be accountable for deepening relationships within key client organizations
driving organic growth and introducing the full range of capabilities to enhance client impact and business success. The successful candidate will also
mentor and develop the client service team to achieve consistent excellence.
The Large Client Lead is a critical senior leadership role overseeing a portfolio of major accounts each with a revenue contribution of at least USD $1 million.
The individual in this role must be a relationship builder strategic thinker and growth driver leveraging our integrated offerings across PR digital creative
marketing and more. A successful candidate will be culturally fluent in both Japanese and Western business practices and experienced in working with or
within Japan-headquartered companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for one or more of our largest clients in Japan fostering long-term trusted partnerships.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for organic growth by deeply understanding client businesses and challenges.
- Introduce and integrate the full spectrum of our capabilities to the client working with specialty teams as needed both in and outside Japan.
- Ensure account delivery is on time on budget with business acumen and of consistently high quality.
- Drive internal networking efforts to broaden our footprint within client organizations building relationships across departments and business units.
- Guide mentor and inspire the client service team enhancing capability strategic thinking client service standards and directing talent to elevate and
grow within the client portfolio. - Collaborate with leadership on commercial planning budgeting and forecasting for assigned accounts.
- Provide strategic counsel to senior client stakeholders ensuring we remain a proactive trusted advisor.
- Actively contribute to the Japan Leadership Team and support broader agency initiatives.
- Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills with senior executives and key decision-makers.
- Strategic thinking with a proactive approach to client challenges and opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience delivering integrated marketing and communications programs.
- Strong commercial and operational acumen including P&L ownership and project delivery oversight.
- Excellent bilingual communication skills (English and Japanese) in both verbal and written formats.
- Effective team leadership mentoring and talent development skills.
- Ability to navigate and thrive in matrixed and multinational environments.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree or higher.
- At least 15 years of experience in communications marketing or a related field.
- Proven experience managing client accounts with annual revenue of at least USD $1million.
- Previous experience working with or within a Japan-headquartered company is highly desirable.
- Deep knowledge of public relations and integrated marketing communications including digital tools and channels.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese is mandatory.
