Job Summary
The Process Engineer is responsible for analyzing developing and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve productivity quality safety and cost efficiency. Working closely with the Manufacturing Manager and cross-functional teams this role identifies inefficiencies implements process improvements and ensures smooth integration of new technologies equipment and procedures.
Duties:
Including but not limited to:
- Analyze current production procedures workflows and standards to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
- Optimize processes to reduce costs minimize waste improve quality and increase productivity while maintaining safety and compliance.
- Spend time on the production floor evaluating employee and machinery workflows for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to processes including APQP machine setup and operation instructions tooling and gage instructions and work instructions.
- Support product design teams by ensuring manufacturability safety and productivity in both new and existing designs.
- Identify procure and maintain required tools molds dies fixtures and gages for the assigned manufacturing area.
- Monitor and analyze process performance metrics such as cycle time yield and scrap rates; implement corrective actions to achieve targets.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Provide training and guidance to production teams on equipment procedures and new processes.
- Stay current with advancements in process engineering technologies methodologies and best practices.
- Assist in compliance with government requirements (EPA OSHA etc.) and company Environmental
- Management System (EMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
- Ensure project completion on specification within budget and on time while providing all required documentation to Maintenance & Facilities teams.
- Actively promote process improvement to strengthen competitiveness and meet industry standards.
- Attend and contribute to product design reviews and cross-functional meetings.
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders to support successful process implementation.
