Throughout the year UW-Green Bay hosts a wide range of athletic competitions and special events that often draw substantial crowds and present unique logistical challenges. These demands can exceed the staffing capacity of the UW-Green Bay Police Department especially given the frequency of events and our ongoing commitment to maintaining regular patrol and operational coverage.

With the return of mens basketball games from Ashwaubenon to the Kress Events Center on campus we are seeking qualified Crowd Control Officers to help offset staffing shortages and ensure a safe well-managed environment for attendees.

Officers will wear their home agency uniform and equipment while on duty and operate under the supervision of a University Police supervisor. Typical responsibilities include managing traffic and pedestrian flow outside the venue and maintaining a visible security presence within the event space.

Mens and womens basketball games consistently draw the largest audiences among UW-Green Bay events. While these games have historically required minimal police interventiondespite spirited competition and alcohol salesthe evolving nature of collegiate athletics means crowd dynamics can shift quickly especially as team success builds throughout the season.

Our Crowd Control Officer program is modeled after the long-standing and successful approach used by UW-Madison for their football games.
