What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking a hands-on Power BI Senior Consultant to design configure and develop a custom solution in Power BI. The candidate will take an active role in leading the development of a custom Power BI dashboard for the client in the Defense and Security Segment where the individual will collect and analyze human capital data to identify trends develop visualizations and identify client requirements in support of organizational and mission goals. The candidate will have excellent presentation communication leadership and client development skills to effectively present information to clients and senior level groups. The candidate should have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills attention to quality self-motivation and a strong desire to succeed.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Drive Power BI implementation through all project phases including discovery definition build test and deploy
Lead design and development of data visualization and dashboard solutions
Lead and review data ingestion transformation and cleaning processes using languages and tools such as R Python SQL DAX Power Query and Tableau Prep
Deliver services and solutions for clients using Microsofts Power Apps Power BI SharePoint Power Automate Microsoft Teams custom development and data integrations
Serve as Power BI Subject Matter Expert (SME) with technical expertise including system architecture solution design system configuration and security management
Present tailored demonstrations of the technology solution
Help create design documentation for new solutions and functions
Perform advanced analytics on diverse disparate data to identify trends
Conduct end-user training and create and maintain knowledge transfer documentation
Communicate technical information to senior decision-makers and non-technical audiences
Handle and share data in compliance with proper security standards
Ensure data governance and quality assurance standards are met
Work with team members to summarize and report on business process improvements to include gaps in current processes and initiatives to improve processes for an organization
Organize and lead client meetings including scheduling meetings; drafting and delivering agendas and meeting minutes; providing and archiving required documentation; and documenting tracking and following up on action items
Be proactive in staying up to date on the latest updates to Power BI as well as future roadmap features announced in Microsofts wave plans
What You Will Need:
An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD securityclearance
Bachelors degree
THREE (3) years of professional experience including TWO (2) years of Power BI development experience and compiling and cleaning data from multiple different sources using programming languages (Python R SQL) or low-code/no-code software (Power Query Tableau Prep)
Ability to work on client site in Washington DC metro region 3 days per week
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Experience consulting for the Department of Defense or other Federal agencies
Experience administering Power BI or Tableau Server/Cloud workspaces and apps for multiple different stakeholders
Any Tableau or Microsoft data analytics or data visualization certifications
Strong understanding of data visualization and design best practices
Excellent verbal and written communication organizational prioritization and time management skills with strong attention to detail
Experience developing new and re-designing existing processes to meet new and/or evolving business requirements
Ability to work independently with minimal direction
Ability to anticipate and respond to management and client needs
Ability to provide guidance and direction for specific projects or sub-tasks
Capability to manage multi-task projects
Ability to facilitate meetings and present topics to diverse groups of functional and technical staff
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff within an organization
Experience working with human capital-related data
Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms such as Databricks Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
