Summary
The Estimators are responsible for estimating job opportunities for millwork projects of varying size and complexity. Estimates are prepared by calculating the cost of raw materials and fabrication finishing and installation hours and adding overhead and profit. The estimator must understand fabrication and installation processes to make these calculations. The Estimator will review bid invites and other opportunities as they are assigned and ensure their bid submissions meet the deadline and requirements of the bid invitation.

Responsibilities
-Complete takeoffs of architectural bid drawings then compile pricing estimate and a project scope of work using tools and software available Bluebeam; Innergy

-Excellent verbal/written communication time management planning decision-making business acumen and leadership skills required

-Estimate number of fab finish and install hours required to complete the project along with assessing cost and availability of raw materials

-Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude and for developing this attitude in others
-Keep the Estimating Manager and others immediately informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations

-Research & source specified materials and obtain price quotes from vendors suppliers or subcontractors

-Participate in both internal and external meetings to actively collaborate with coordination of project requirements
-Schedule and effectively lead comprehensive project handoff meetings to Project Management team for smooth starts
-Review of contract requirements scope specifications and negotiations to ensure project success and compliance

-Negotiate with prospects throughout bid stages; provide value engineering breakdown pricing alternates

-Communicate with clients vendors and team members via phone email or in person on a daily basis.
-Assess bid opportunities to determine feasibility of providing proposals on promising prospects.
-Review and update a daily bid schedule and adhere to customers deadlines

-Assist Project Management team with Change Order pricing and submittal

-Plot read interpret and understand architectural and shop drawings

-Price negotiate compose and issue project proposals to clientele
-Attend project site meetings as required by General Contractor
-Attend and actively participate in weekly Company meetings
