The Senior GIS Analyst will focus on coordinating with senior leadership on key project deliverables and organize resources as needed for large project tasks. The Senior GIS Analyst will also consult on internal GIS initiatives modernization and quality control.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Setup frameworks for similar large-scale projects that come online this year so that assigned project leads can manage their projects efficiently
- Development of GIS policies/procedures establishing standards/templates and undertaking BD requests
- Support Canacre and deliver presentations to clients focused on our GIS technology.
- Train GIS staff as needed.
- Develop high quality custom maps and reports.
- Convert data and conduct GIS analysis.
- Create edit and manage data for a variety of projects.
- Perform data analysis and spatial queries.
- Design and conduct Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures on mapping and data products.
- Conduct evaluations of cartographic and GIS principles.
- Address and resolve issues relating to project and/or data.
- Liaise with Canacre Field Teams on related projects.
- Set up internal GIS system including field data collection capabilities and in-house data management systems.
- Provide drawings data and geographic information for various environmental projects and reports.
- Create analyze and maintain vector raster and tabular data and databases.
- Liaise with Canacre departments to deliver quality service.
Perform other duties as required.QUALIFICATIONS:- Post secondary degree in GIS Cartography Geography or related field of study or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years professional experience in GIS.
- Educational or Professional experience with ESRI ArcGIS and its extensions.
- Maintenance of SQL Server/Enterprise Database knowledge.
- Professional experience with Experience Builder Story Maps Hub Sites and other advanced Esri software is considered an asset.
- Digitizing editing and performing queries in ArcGIS Desktop/Pro and relational databases.
- Online tool development in the Esri suite of products (Portal and ArcGIS Online) including Experience Builder Field Maps and Survey123.
- 3D skills to create visual simulation models and reports.
- SQL view and querying Enterprise Geodatabase management.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Python and Esri Arcade language.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead others and train staff and clients in a professional manner.
- A keen attention to detail.
- An advanced understanding of the importance of projections coordinate systems and datums.
- An understanding of how to integrate CAD KMZ/KML and GIS data.
