The City of Prince Albert is accepting resumes for the position of Arenas Manager in the Parks Recreation and Culture department. This role will plan coordinate and manage the Arenas operation and the Aquatics maintenance requirements including managing employees and contractors.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs for the Arenas and Aquatic facilities
- Manage and ensure completion of preventative and emergency maintenance and construction projects.
- Interact and consult with building occupants and user groups.
- Supervise schedule and manage the performance of employees carrying out maintenance activities at Arenas and Aquatic facilities.
- Compile procedures and training manuals as required.
- Develop and recommend budget requirements for scheduled maintenance capital improvements and operation of systems.
- Prepare tenders for work required.
- Investigate and report on various facilities issues as required.
- Manage and coordinate the scheduling of events and/or programs.
- Consult with community organizations and user groups to plan desired programs.
- Prepare grant applications and attend to follow up work relating to grant applications.
- Develop and recommend budget requirements for Arenas and Aquatics facilities maintenance.
Qualifications:
- A four (4) year degree in recreation or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 years Maintenance experience in an arenas and Aquatics Environment.
- 5 years experience working in Arenas and/or Aquatics facilities.
Key Knowledge Technical Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to interpret blueprints specifications and sketches.
- Knowledge of pneumatic and electronic automated control systems.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes fire codes plumbing and electrical codes.
- Knowledge of current OH&S standards and regulations.
- Ability to effectively use a variety of computer programs including drafting database word processing spreadsheet and presentation software.
- Ability to write successful grant applications and complete follow up requirements.
- WHMIS Standard First Aid/CPR Pool Operator course Arena Operator course
