Meet your future team
You will be joining our Platform Engineering team a group of talented and collaborative engineers dedicated to building and operating scalable secure and reliable cloud-native platforms.
At VELUX Platform Engineering is organised into three specialised teams: TAI (Tools and Interfaces) CPR (Container Platform Runtime) and KORE (Kubernetes Operations and Reliability Engineering). This role is part of the CPR team which focuses on delivering resilient container runtime environments.
While many of our engineers work remotely we also offer the flexibility to work from one of our office locations. Our teams are distributed across Latvia Sweden Denmark and India. Each team is led by a dedicated team lead and works closely with our platform lead in a working group that defines and manages the roadmap.
We value autonomy and empower our teams to innovate and move quickly. Our technology stack is built around cloud-native principles with Kubernetes at its addition to leveraging established tools we also develop custom solutions - for example extending backstage to better support the needs of our developers.
What we offer
In this role you will help define and operate the foundation of our cloud platforms support engineering growth and drive best practices across the organisation.
More specifically your tasks will be to:
- Design build and maintain scalable secure and reliable platform solutions.
- Take ownership of core platform components using Kubernetes Docker and other cloud-native tools.
- Automate infrastructure with Terraform Atlantis ClusterAPI and Crossplane.
What you will bring
You are passionate about platform engineering and thrive in a collaborative environment. You enjoy mentoring others and balancing technical excellence with business needs.
Moreover we expect that you:
- Have strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container technologies.
- Are familiar with modern cloud-native platform engineering practices.
- Have deep knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Atlantis.
- Have experience with ClusterAPI Crossplane or similar provisioning tools.
- Communicate clearly and work well with cross-functional teams.
- Are motivated to support and develop engineers at different experience levels.
