Were seeking a Communications and Events Coordinator to work with one of our multi-disciplinary teams. You will play a pivotal role in executing communication and engagement strategies that supports Atlantic Canadas transition to a low-carbon future. You will be responsible for the successful implementation and delivery of multiple styles of events and communications concurrently. If you are a creative and detail-oriented individual who has a passion for communications and events we want to hear from you.

About the Opportunity
In this 12-month contract position you will report to a Director in supporting their programs communications strategy and coordinating external engagement events. This contract may be extended beyond 12 months based on organizational needs.
You will work closely with key team members including project staff the Communications and Engagement Lead and your Director and be responsible for:
- Implementing communications and engagement strategies to strengthen Net Zero Atlantics reputation as an unbiased and trusted partner in advancing the transition to a carbon-neutral future.
- Ensuring consistency and alignment of external communications for various project initiatives with Net Zero Atlantics brand voice and strategic priorities.
- Working closely with project managers producing presentations writing and editing proposals reports and other documents.
- Updating the organizations website.
- Writing and scheduling engaging social media content and documenting performance analytics.
- Creating basic graphic designs using brand templates in Canva.
- Coordinating external events and engagement in person virtually and hybrid (conferences workshops round tables networking events tradeshows symposiums and webinars).
- Managing event logistics (sponsorships speakers presenters registrations promotions venues catering audiovisual etc.).
- Travelling to event and engagement locations to support operational needs.
- Supporting activities that further Net Zero Atlantics mandate.
What youll need
Qualifications
Your qualifications include:
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in business administration event planning communications marketing or related field. Or a relevant combination of education or experience.
- Two years of demonstrated experience with the planning and execution of events and communications.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Have flexibility to periodically work outside of standard work hours as per event requirements.
- Hold a valid drivers licence in Atlantic Canada with the ability to rent vehicles.
