JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State Altoona Athletics is hiring for the openings of Intercollegiate Athletic Scoreboard and Clock Operators. The opening assists with a variety of varsity athletic competitions and occasional special events.
Essential Functions:
Perform scoreboard and clock operating duties including shot clock at Penn State Altoona varsity athletic games and special sport-related events including: basketball volleyball soccer wrestling and swim meets.
Responsible for updating the scoreboard throughout the game with time scores fouls and other needed information.
Responsible for starting stopping and/or resetting the shot clock.
Report any incidents at home events to Athletic Director.
Required Education Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions; subject to extreme heat and cold.
- Ability to stand for extended periods in variable weather conditions.
- General knowledge of and compliance with all NCAA competition guidelines.
- Understanding of NCAA game day rules and regulations of various sports primarily womens and mens basketball.
- Ability to communicate with various constituents the public students coaches administrators and officials.
- Strong work ethic customer service skills verbal/written communication.
- Ability to work evenings weekends and holidays.
