Ops Excellence Manager Transportation, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper is Amazons low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast reliable internet to customers and communities around the world and weve designed the system with the capacity flexibility and performance to serve a wide range of customers from individual households to schools hospitals businesses government agencies and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

As the Logistics Operations Excellence Manager you will own and drive the end-to-end strategy for continuous improvement for Kuiper Transportation at global scale. Continuous improvement includes diving deep into existing processes and procedures and working backward from stakeholders and business leaders to drive operational efficiencies.

Key job responsibilities
This role will be responsible for mechanisms used to manage logistics service providers throughout their lifecycle with Kuiper including onboarding and performance management.

-Own end to end strategy for system integration and continuous improvement working with various stakeholders including but not limited to: Supply Chain Global Trade and Finance to achieve Kuiper goals
-Build and maintain strong relationships with Logistics Service Providers and Suppliers
-Develop and maintain program KPIs metrics reporting systems and regular business reviews (WBR/MBR)
-Develop long-term shipment forecast models that inform Kuiper Transportation business leaders
-Develop comprehensive logistics plans encompassing ocean warehousing (bonded/non-bonded) and ground delivery where none exist currently
-Develop risk assessments and standard operating procedures drive continuous improvement
-Develop strategic cost optimization budget forecast (supporting OP1/OP2) and lead cost optimization efforts
-Identify and implement scalable solutions to support Kuiper Transportation team goals

- Bachelors degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
- 5 years of professional experience in transportation logistics or supply chain management

- Experience in using analytical tools such as Tableau Qlikview QuickSight
- Masters degree

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
