The University of Southern Maine is searching for an individual to join our Facilities Management team as a Mail Services Assistant CL2. This position will be primarily assigned to our Portland campus and be a key member of a small team that is student focused every day. This is a full-time regular position that is core to USMs ability to deliver an exceptional and affordable educational experience to students in Maine and across the country; AND an opportunity for you to advance your education with our tuition waiver program!

This position will pay $17.41/hour.

The primary work schedule of Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. with possible evenings and weekends based on the needs of the University.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
  • Two years mail equipment or administrative experience.
  • Valid State of Maine drivers license that meets requirements to operate University vehicles and equipment.
  • Customer service skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of Commercial shipping methods terminology and equipment.
  • Knowledge of UPS Federal Express and US postal service rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of safe work methods and safe operation of assigned mail processing equipment.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
